Corriander and Mint for Cockatiels
Can we give mint and coriander to Cockatiels in the summer season???
I have checked some articles cucumber seeds are not lethal or harmful for any bird but the thing which i want to make sure from the article was the ( AMYGDALINE ) it is a chemical compound which can cause several problems in your bird as well as animals.
I have seen a cyanide poisoning case of horse in my life, but i didn't see any bird case in my life till now.
So this compound can cause cyanide poisoning, which is present in apple seeds and some other fruits
Ali bhai's response:
Mint (podeena) aids digestion and encourages eating in extreme weather conditions.
Coriander is a good source of vitamins A and C during summer.
Vitamin A
Keeps our birds’ skin, eyes, and feathers in shape, even during heat stress. It also helps fight off infections, which is important when the weather changes.
Vitamin C
Supports their immune system and helps them handle stress in hot conditions. It also helps repair tissues and keeps their energy levels up.
Cucumber, including its seeds, is also safe and non-toxic. It helps keep birds hydrated, especially in hot weather. However, due to its high water content, excessive feeding can cause watery droppings and may potentially lead to diarrhoea.
As with all fresh foods, moderation is key. Even healthy items can cause harm when overfed.
